Evidence and Power Roundtable IV: Emancipatory Health


About

The fourth Evidence and Power Online Roundtable, chaired by Professors Mehita Iqani (Stellenbosch University) and Anna Feigenbaum (Bournemouth University), invites speakers working in innovative ways at the interface of science, communication, and society to engage in discussion about the relations between data, methodology and the exercise of scientific authority. This upcoming discussion will focus on emancipatory health, examining how theories and practices address health equity and the social determinants of health.

The speakers for this roundtable are:

> Tamara Kredo: Health Systems Research Unit Director, South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC)
> Suntosh Pillay: Chief Clinical Psychologist, eThekwini District, Durban
> Carolina Matos: Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Media, City University of London
> Kevin Guyan: Chancellor’s Fellow (Data and Identity), University of Edinburgh Business School

The Roundtable will be from 13:00-14:30 (South African Standard Time) and 12:00-13:30 (British Summer Time). RSVP by 22 October 2024 at 10am (SAST).
