The second Evidence and Power Online Roundtable, chaired by Professors Mehita Iqani (Stellenbosch University) and Anna Feigenbaum (Bournemouth University), invites speakers working in innovative ways at the interface of science, communication, and society to engage in discussion about the relations between data, methodology and the exercise of scientific authority. It will explore how scientific research has been harnessed into policy, official communication, popular culture, and public discourse. It will also consider the inverse: How communications practices and structures work to produce scientific evidence.

The speakers and their research interests for the roundtable are:

• Melanie Klinkner: Professor of International Law, Bournemouth University
• Sthabile Kolwa: Lecturer in Astrophysics, University of Johannesburg
• Pawas Bisht: Senior Lecturer in Media, Culture, and Communication, Keele University
• Leslie Swartz: Professor of Psychology, Stellenbosch University

The Roundtable will be from 13:00-14:30 (SAST) and 11:00-12:30 (GMT). All registered attendees will be emailed the online link a day before the discussion.
