Our final Media Futures Seminar will focus on the media's power of connection which also coincides with the launch of our student's publication, Stellenbosch Media Forum (SMF). Speakers will discuss the importance of media in connecting and informing society as well as the importance of student journalism in the broader sphere of amplifying the voices of communities. Speakers will include:
- Rebecca Davis from The Daily Maverick, who will speak about how the media connects/disconnects marginalised communities,
- Marecia Damons from Ground Up, who will explore the media’s role in finding Thabo Bester,
- Thameenah Daniels and Emma Solomon from Stellenbosch Media Forum, speaking about the student publication and the media’s power of connection.
